Mississippi Sports Betting Revenue Soars 707.4% in March

The Mississippi sports betting industry experienced a dramatic upswing in March, with revenue soaring a staggering 707.4% compared to the same period last year. This remarkable growth was driven by a substantial surge in player bets, which leaped by a whopping 372%.

The state’s gambling establishments were compelled to temporarily close their doors in the middle of March last year due to the COVID-19 crisis, resulting in a significant decline in sports betting activity. However, this year, March revenue reached an unprecedented $5.2 million, a substantial increase from the $648,647 generated in the same month last year.

The revenue also witnessed a 13% rise compared to February of this year. In March, Mississippi residents placed a total of $50.5 million on sporting events, a significant jump from the $10.7 million wagered in March of last year. This represents a 5.7% increase from the $47.8 million wagered in January.
