New CEO to Lead Curaçao Gaming Control Authority into New Era

The Curaçao Gaming Control Authority has appointed Cedric Peters as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will assume the position on February 1st. This selection comes directly from the Board’s Governing Body.

Peters has large responsibilities to shoulder. He is succeeding the current CEO and will supervise all existing licensing matters, as mandated by legislation. However, his role extends further – he will also spearhead the organization’s transition to an entirely new regulatory framework once the national decrees are enacted.

He undoubtedly possesses the necessary background. With a 20-year history at the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS), he has held numerous positions within both regulatory and leadership groups.

Given the ongoing transformations in Curaçao’s legal environment, his proficiency is anticipated to significantly enhance their operational effectiveness, particularly in areas such as anti-money laundering (AML) protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Peters appears prepared for the task, stating, “I am genuinely thrilled to join the Gaming Control Board at such a critical juncture. I am certain that by collaborating with the staff and the Governing Body, we can strategically guide the Gaming Control Board into a new phase and deliver tangible benefits for all stakeholders, especially the Minister of Finance.”

Fons Simon, Chair of the Gaming Control Board’s Governing Body, shared this perspective, remarking, “The Gaming Control Board is at a pivotal point, and Cedric’s appointment represents a significant stride in our journey of evolution.”

Hes a seasoned financial expert, a crucial asset for maneuvering through regulatory complexities and ensuring seamless operational flow. His foresight in strategizing will be incredibly beneficial.

Regarding the Caribbean region, Continent 8 Technologies recently revealed a new data hub in Curacao. This follows the Curacao Gaming Control Board’s efforts to streamline the licensing process for operators. Curacao is evidently committed to solidifying its position as a prominent force within the iGaming industry.
