Catena Media Launches in Vermont’s Emerging Sports Betting Market

A prominent force in the realm of affiliate marketing for digital sports wagering, Catena Media, has targeted Vermont for its latest venture. With the Green Mountain State’s recent embrace of legal online sports betting, Catena Media was poised for action.

They’ve already forged alliances with all three authorized providers: DraftKings, Fanatics, and FanDuel. These industry giants went live in Vermont on January 11th, following approval from the state’s Department of Liquor and Lottery.

Catena Media is moving swiftly. Their premier brands, including well-known entities like NJ.com and The Sporting News, are already disseminating a surge of Vermont-centric sports betting material. Their goal is to furnish enthusiasts with the necessary tools to navigate the dynamic landscape of online sports gambling.

Vermont, despite being the final New England state to authorize this form of leisure, marks a substantial stride for the sector. It stands as the first North American market to launch in 2024, with North Carolina anticipated to follow. While Vermont possesses a smaller populace, with roughly half a million adults, the fervor for online betting is already apparent.

Ryan Harper, Catena Media’s Vice President for North America, emphasized this, citing the considerable interest from both the industry and wagerers. He noted that Vermonters are familiar with online gaming, having previously embraced daily fantasy sports and online horse race betting.

This expansion represents another accomplishment for Catena Media, reinforcing its footprint in a network encompassing over 28 states and Canadian provinces.

Catena Media, recently divesting its Italian business for a substantial €19.8 million, is intensifying its strategic emphasis on the controlled North American market. The company views the US, specifically, as its primary engine for expansion in the foreseeable future.
